So what do we do now?
Matthew 7:7-11
7. "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
8. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
9. "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
10. Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?
11. If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
Get involved. Find out about what you can do. How? Ask, seek, and knock. Prove to the other side that you are not an ignorant bystander. Become a formidable foe. There is no evil for being involved, but if you do not get involved then what is at stake will become evil.
Remember the Golden Rule? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Well it's not any diferent than verse 2. "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." The verse by itself sounds negative but it's not, it's just pointing out the facts. Don't be afraid to take a stand and judge.
You say, "I will not judge because I don't want to throw my pearls before the swine."
You just did.
Something I've finally come to realize is that if I would want someone to love me enough to point out my own foolishness and blind ignorance that if I am left to continue in could potentially or would harm me, I should also love them enough to take a second and judge them and their words and actions. Are they doing things that could or are hurting themselves or others? Well, I should probably stand up for THEM and their safety and well-being (not to mention others) by doing the thankless and often criticized task of Biblically judging them based on their words and actions!
ReplyDeleteIn general, I like what I see here! Keep up the good work. In case no one else has, or will do so, I thank you for standing up to judge and be judged.
Thanks for the post, Brandon. Let you actions speak louder than your words in every area of your life. Jesus said to the folks following about him "If you don't believe what I say, then believe what I do."
